The school guidance counselling service is administered by a professionally trained School Guidance Counsellor. The Guidance Counsellor as part of a school team, focuses primarily on the personal and social, educational and career development of his/her students. The aim of the service is to professionally answer the guidance and counselling needs of the students in the context of the overall school mission.
St Anne's has a full time Guidance Counsellor. The work of the Guidance Counsellor takes place with classes, groups and also on a one-to-one basis. It consists largely of the following functions:
- Personal and Social Guidance.
- Educational Guidance.
- Career Guidance.
Students can make an appointment by simply asking the Guidance Counsellor, leaving a note under the office door, by email (guidance@killaloecc.ie), asking another teacher to make an appointment, or asking a parent/guardian to phone in to make an appointment.
