Badmintion Champions

Congratulations to all our teams who competed at the All Ireland Secondary School Badminton Competition recently. A great day’s badminton was had by all. Thanks to Sarah Devane, John Daly and Ruth Kilkenny for all their hard work put into the four teams who competed at Gormanston College in Co. Meath. Well done in particular to:

U14A Gold Medallists: Susan Daly, Aisling O’Meara, Linda & Rachel Daly

U14B Silver Medallists: Leah O’Brien, Susan O’Shea, Molly Fennessy, Alice Gleeson & Laura Donoghue

U16A Silver Medallists: Aoife Power, Rosaleen Ryan, Anna Ryan, Sadhbh Fennessy & Kate Gleeson

Our Boys U19 team included David O’Shea, Declan Power, Mike O’Shea, Eddie Burke & Stephen Howard

Donate a shrub

Mr. Murray is working on regenerating an outside area of the school. The idea is there will be a patio and seating area for students with lots of lovely plants. We have already completed much of the work thanks to Michael O’ Connell and his trusty tractor! The patio slabs have been purchased but we need plants and shrubs. Anyone who would like to donate or sponsor a shrub please contact the school and ask for Mr. Murray.

Do you hear the people sing?

Come ‘Join the Revolution’ this week at St. Anne’s! The school is buzzing with excitement today as the first outstanding performance of Les Miserables ran at St. Anne’s. Local primary school students and some senior citizens were treated to an exceptional show this morning. The show runs nightly until Saturday. Limited tickets still available from the school.

Today students and staff alike dressed up to raise awareness and funds for our green school campaign. There was a great atmosphere in the building today. Well done to all.

Celebrating International Day of Prayer

The 2015 International Day of Prayer service was prepared by the women of the Bahamas. Our students celebrated the service dressed in the colours of the Bahamas (Thanks to Ms. K Ryan). All our Transition Year students, male and female participated in the ecumenical service at the local Cathedral today with the Church of Ireland and Catholic Communities. This service is celebrated throughout the world on this day. Third year student Aoife Daly sang the ‘Our Father’ beautifully as Gaeilge. A very big thanks to all involved.
